Switching from Crisp

Three websites. Three inboxes.

Crisp bills per workspace and each site needs its own, so it's $135 a month for three inboxes to switch between, or $45 with all three answering as one company. Ours is $29 for three branded sites behind one inbox.

Their free plan is genuinely good, and we say so further down. Read that first.

Priced per workspace, not per person

Which reads as generous - four people for $45, no per-seat maths. It stays generous right up until your second website.

Crisp
$45

Per workspace, per month

Mini - the cheapest tier with a shared email inbox at all. Four seats, then $10 each. The free plan is the widget only: no email inbox, and it stops at 100 customer profiles.

Crisp
$295

To take their name off your widget

“We run on Crisp” sits on the chatbox on Free, Mini and Essentials. Removing it is the Plus plan - and Plus is billed per workspace too, so it's $295 per website.

Everything, all in

Three sites, three people, every feature, each site branded as itself - and one inbox behind all three. No badge on the widget at any price, including this one.

And a meter underneath: Hugo, their AI, runs on credits. $5 included on Mini, $25 on Essentials, $75 on Plus - which Crisp costs at roughly 90, 450 and 1,350 automated conversations, about six cents each. Run out and Hugo stops answering unless you switch on pay as you go. Our drafting runs on the Claude or ChatGPT plan you already pay for, so there's no meter to watch.

A workspace is one website

This is the one that catches people out. Every Crisp workspace has its own Website ID and its own chatbox settings - name, colour, avatar, greeting - and its own inbox. Two sites that look like themselves is two workspaces, and Crisp's own documentation is blunt about what that costs: if you need two premium workspaces, each one needs its own paid subscription.

One site
1 workspace
$45 a month

Mini, four seats, one inbox. This is the shape Crisp is priced for, and at one website it's a fair price for a good product. We're not going to pretend otherwise.

Three sites, each as itself
3 workspaces
$135 a month

Three subscriptions, three inboxes, three sets of settings, three lots of saved replies. The 20% multi-workspace rebate doesn't help: Crisp restricts it to Essentials and Plus.

Six sites
6 workspaces
$270 a month

Six subscriptions and six inboxes on the cheapest tier. The rebate exists at three or more workspaces - but only on Essentials at $95, so the way to unlock the discount is to buy the plan that costs twice as much.

What it actually comes to

The wall isn't the price, it's the inbox count. $45 for one site is fair, and Crisp is a good product for the money. What it can't do is treat six websites as one job - because the unit it bills and the unit it organises are the same unit, and that unit is one website.

Crisp figures from crisp.chat/en/pricing and their own knowledge base on workspaces, seats and rebates, fetched 31 August 2026, at list monthly rates. We may have got some of this wrong.

Line by line

Crisp does a great deal more than we do. On one website it's the bigger product for $16 more - the question is what happens on your second.

Crisp plans and capabilities as published on crisp.chat and help.crisp.chat, 31 August 2026.

We may well have got some of this wrong

Every Crisp figure and feature here was read off their own pricing page and knowledge base on 31 August 2026. Crisp has four plans, per-workspace billing, add-on seats, a metered AI credit pool and a multi-workspace rebate that is applied by hand on request - so some of this required a judgement about which tier honestly does a given job, and about the cheapest sensible way to buy it. This is our best effort, not gospel, and we're plainly not a neutral party.

Treat it as a guide, not a quote. Price your own case against crisp.chat/en/pricing - and ask Crisp directly about the rebate before you count on it. If something here is out of date or simply wrong, tell us - we'll correct it the same day and say what changed. This page is reviewed quarterly.

When you should stay on Crisp

Crisp is a good product at a fair price, and for a fair number of people it's the better buy. Here is when.

We built tiny.help for one shape of business, and Crisp covers a lot of shapes we don't. Stay where you are if any of this is you:

  • You have one website, and it stays one website. This is the honest one. At a single site Crisp's $45 buys considerably more than our $29 does - a bot, a knowledge base, a CRM, ten channels. The whole argument on this page is about the second site. If there isn't one, we're the smaller product and you should say no.
  • The free plan already covers you. Two seats, unlimited conversations, the widget on your site, mobile and desktop apps, $0 forever. If you're one person and email isn't part of the job, nothing we sell beats free, and we're not going to pretend $29 does.
  • You want an AI answering on its own. Hugo answers unattended, with a no-code builder behind it and a knowledge base feeding it. Every reply on tiny.help waits for a person to press send. If your volume is past what people can read, we genuinely cannot help.
  • Customers reach you on WhatsApp, Instagram or SMS. Crisp does eleven-plus channels in one inbox and does them properly. We do the web widget and email, and that is the entire list.
  • You want to see the customer's screen. MagicBrowse is good and it's rare, and support people who have co-browsing don't willingly give it up. We have nothing like it.
  • Your inbox is also your CRM. Contact profiles, segments, campaigns, MagicMap, 100+ integrations, a public API. If the desk has to know what the rest of your stack thinks, that's Crisp and it isn't us.
  • Your chatbot scenarios are load-bearing. If Hugo and your workflows are handling real volume overnight, moving to us means turning that off and answering it yourself in the morning.
The honest summary: Crisp isn't overpriced, it's priced per website. With one website it's good value and we're the cheaper, smaller thing. With three you are buying the same product three times and switching between three inboxes to run one business - and that last part is what we built against, not the price.

What moving actually looks like

No migration project. Run both for a fortnight and let the old threads close on their own.

01

Swap the widget

Take the Crisp script out, put ours in, just before </body>. Each site gets its own key, its own name and its own colour - and one inbox behind all of them.

02

Point your support address here

Forward support@ at your desk address and email lands beside the chat. Replies you send from your own inbox thread back into the visitor's chat window.

03

Connect the AI you already pay for

Paste a page of tone notes, connect Claude or ChatGPT, and every draft sounds like you. No credit pool, no per-conversation rate, nothing to top up.

<script src="https://tiny.help/w.js" data-key="wk_your_site_key" async></script>

What doesn't come across: your conversation history, contact profiles and segments, your chatbot scenarios and workflows, knowledge base articles, campaigns and any integrations. Crisp has a full API and will export your data, so the archive is genuinely yours - drop the workspace to the free plan and leave it there until the last open thread closes. If Hugo is answering real volume for you overnight, that alone is a reason to stay.

Who actually switches

This is for you if…

  • You look after three or more websites and pay Crisp three or more times for them.
  • You switch workspaces to answer, and lose track of which inbox a question came into.
  • You use the widget and the inbox and almost nothing above Mini.
  • “We run on Crisp” is sitting on a client's site, and $295 a workspace isn't a serious answer to it.
  • You already pay for Claude or ChatGPT and don't want a second AI meter running.

It isn't for you if…

  • You have one website and no plans for a second.
  • The free plan already does the job.
  • Hugo is answering customers overnight and you want that to continue.
  • Customers message you on WhatsApp, Instagram or SMS.
  • Your knowledge base, campaigns or chatbot scenarios are doing real work.
  • You need co-browsing, the CRM, or the integrations.

Questions.

How much cheaper is tiny.help than Crisp?

For one website, $29 against $45 - not much, and Crisp gives you more for the extra $16. For three websites it's $29 against $135, because Crisp bills per workspace and a workspace is one website. For six it's $79 against $270. The gap is the number of sites you look after, not the number of people answering. The full pricing is here.

Does Crisp charge per website?

Effectively, yes. Crisp is billed per workspace, and every workspace has its own Website ID, its own chatbox settings and its own inbox. Their own documentation puts it plainly: if you need two premium workspaces, each workspace needs its own paid subscription. You can install one workspace's widget across several domains, but then every site answers as the same company from the same chatbox, with one inbox between them.

Isn't there a discount for running several Crisp workspaces?

There is: 20% off each additional subscription once you have three or more paid workspaces. Two conditions come with it. It applies only to workspaces on Essentials or Plus, so the $45 Mini plan is excluded, and it's reviewed and applied by hand after you contact Crisp support - they ask you to check with them before relying on it in a budget. Six sites on Essentials with the rebate comes to $475 a month.

How do I get the Crisp branding off my chat widget?

You buy the Plus plan at $295 a month. The "We run on Crisp" label sits on the chatbox on Free, Mini and Essentials, and white labelling is a Plus feature - per workspace, so per website. On tiny.help there's no badge on any plan, including the $29 one, and each site carries its own name, colour and widget face.

What does Crisp do that tiny.help doesn't?

A great deal. Hugo answering customers unattended, a no-code chatbot and workflow builder, a knowledge base, campaigns, co-browsing with MagicBrowse, a CRM with contact profiles and segments, eleven-plus channels including WhatsApp, Instagram and SMS, routing rules, analytics, a ticketing system, sub-inboxes, 100+ integrations, a public API, and a free plan that's genuinely usable. We have none of it. The honest version is up there.

Can I import my Crisp conversations?

Not automatically. Crisp has a full API and will export your data, so the archive is yours to keep. In practice most teams swap the widget over, drop the Crisp workspace to the free plan until the last open thread closes, and hold the export.

One inbox, however many websites.

Paste one script tag per site, invite everyone, connect the AI you already pay for. If it isn't better in a fortnight, cancel in one click.

$29 a month, every plan is everything. We'll tell you if you're better off staying.
